A great family reunion was held in Essendon, home to the mighty bombers  and close to the family’s roots in Moonee Ponds.  The possibility of rain forced a last minute change from Woodlands Park to The Lincolnshire Arms Hotel.

The event featured.

• A tribute to Deb Nicholls, a deeply loved and recently departed member of the family.
• A birthday celebration for Lynne Collins, 80 years young.
• A master class on playing the spoons by Jenny Cowell.
• Attendance by Linda, Denise and Jim from Queensland and many family members from country Victoria.

We learnt about.

• A Cowell family fortune, £ 40,000,000, waiting to be collected at Chancery.
• Captain Kidd the pirate.  One of his daughters wished to marry a Cowell, for this she was threatened with dis-inheritance. Could Captain Kidd’s treasure be linked to the money at Chancery?
