What is CoCo Corner?

CoCo Corner is a private social media service that connects the extended Collins, Cowell, Mason and Ross families and their friends.
We aim to minimise the intrusion of promoters, advertisers and influencers that flood other social media.
It is a place to share current news with stories of our past and profiles of our ancestors that have made us who we are.
Please enjoy and contribute… It needs your news, your memories and your family history.

The front page is a summary of current news and recent additions to CoCo Corner,
The menu bar at the top of each page gives access to more detailed information.
There is a back button near the title on each page to assist with navigation.

Family Heritage is displayed as Personal Profiles, Ancestor Charts, Descendant Charts, Childhood Family Groups and Parental Family Groups.
Personal Profiles include details of major events, births deaths and marriages. Achievements, academic and sporting. Military service. Interests hobbies and pastimes. Possessions and pets. Associations, and special interest groups. Residences, work places and places of worship.
Ancestor Charts start with a person, extend to their parents then their grandparents. They go backwards in time. Ancestor charts are mostly deceased people and the data is unlikely to be hacked.
Descendant Charts start with a couple, extend to their children then their grandchildren and their great grandchildren. They go forward in time. Descendant charts are mostly living people. Information is restricted to names and events with dates as year only in the interest of privacy.
Childhood Family Groups A childhood family group includes brothers and sisters and their parents
Parental Family Groups A parental family group includes spouses and partners with their children. It is possible to belong to more than one parental group.

Mainly restricted to historial family photos older than 10 years. Current photos can be included with news items.

Can be used to promote family businesses.
Can be used to promote holiday rentals and short term rentals owned by family members.

Contributors must be registered and logged on to make submissions.
Submissions can be made using the forms listed under “Contact & Contribute” on the menu bar,
It can take up to 14 days for a submitted item to appear on CoCo Corner.

We have taken steps to block internet crawlers from gathering information from CoCo Corner. This will make it difficult for Google and other search engines.
However there is no way to provide total privacy on the web and no way to totally protect data from hackers.
Living people have been excluded in Ancestor TREES. Information about deceased family members who have a surviving spouse has been restricted.
Consider privacy when submitting material, especially phone numbers, addresses, emails and birth dates.

The initial Family Heritage information has been divided into four families Collins, Cowell, Mason and Ross.
This structure allows for the addition of other family groups.
The editor of other family groups would by required to use Roots Magic to create the database and charts.
News, event and history posts are not restricted to Family Heritage families.

CoCo Corner is a web site created with WordPress and hosted by Bluehost
Styling and page design makes use of the Flatsome Theme.

Protecting the web site from malicious attack.

We hope to attract 15 subscribers to spend $ 10 or $ 20 per quarter to cover the cost of maintaining CoCo Corner.
If there is a surplus at the end of the year it will be donated to the MS Society.
